Time+Tide reviews the Model 01 GTS
Time+Tide, one of watch journalism's most respected outlets, has spent time with the Model 01 GTS series and published a full hands-on review.
From the 70s-inspired colourways to the sandblasted case finish, the verdict was clear: sharp design and genuine build quality carry the GTS series, not just retro styling.

Retro flavour
Time+Tide were struck by how the GTS collection wears its 70s motorsport references lightly rather than leaning on them: "the result is three watches that carry plenty of retro flavour, minus the overly nostalgic theme."
The proportions came in for particular praise too, described as "sharp, colourful and genuinely contemporary, helped enormously by proportions that keep everything compact and low to the wrist."
The dials, finished in automotive paint colours, were singled out for their sense of energy: "all three dials use a fine radial brushing and take their inspiration from automotive paint colours, giving the collection a much stronger sense of speed and movement."

Considered details, confident second release
The sandblasted case finish earned a specific mention: "the sandblasted finish deserves particular credit here... it gives the entire case a soft, almost technical texture that suits the shape beautifully."
On sizing, the review noted that "the basic numbers are very easy to get along with," adding that those dimensions give the Model 01 GTS "an immediately neat presence on the wrist."
The review closes on MONCEAU's trajectory as a brand: "for a brand only recently brought back to life, Monceau seems to have found its feet pretty quickly... its second release already feels like a meaningful evolution rather than a simple colour update."
The verdict: a "compact, cleanly designed sports watch, with the historical references sitting naturally underneath."
